UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra, vocalist Mirja Mäkelä and Anna-Maria Helsing, who debuts as conductor of the orchestra, interpret Outi Tarkiainen’s compositions from the albums Unpainted Portraits and Into the Woodland Silence. The compositions combine the archaic of the North, the unpredictability of contemporary music, and the poetry that bring the listeners into the intimate atmosphere of the Holy Week. The unique concerts  move freely within the fields of jazz and contemporary music, framed by the strong solo performances of the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra’s musicians....
